Dr. Md. Shafiullah Prodhan, Chairman and Consultant at DPRC Ltd., is a renowned rehab-physio specialist with over two decades of experience. A top academic performer, he received district-based scholarships and completed his bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy from NITOR under Dhaka University’s Faculty of Medicine. He further enhanced his expertise with an MS in Disability and Rehabilitation from Bangladesh and a PhD from India, focusing on a comparative study of back pain in urban and rural populations.
Dr. Prodhan began his career as a lecturer at Bangladesh Medical College in 2004, where he combined teaching with consultancy. Currently, he serves as an associate professor at the International Institute of Health Sciences (IIHS). Beyond academia, he is a prolific researcher with numerous publications in national and international medical journals and has presented in seminars across Bangladesh, India, Malaysia, and Thailand.
As the founder vice president of the Bangladesh Physiotherapy Society (BPS) and a consultant for leading sports organizations, including the Bangladesh Tennis Federation, he has been pivotal in advancing physiotherapy in the country. Dr. Prodhan regularly appears on TV, radio, and print media, promoting health awareness and providing insights into non-surgical treatments for pain, paralysis, arthritis, and disabilities.
Dr. Prodhan currently treats a wide range of conditions, including avascular necrosis (AVN), joint pain (hip, knee, shoulder), muscle pain, back pain, neck pain, PLID/slip disc, lower back and hip pain, spondyloarthritis (SPA), heel pain, bone loss, rheumatoid arthritis, ligament injuries, stroke and paralysis rehabilitation, sciatica, frozen shoulder, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, whole-body pain, myopathy, spinal pain, and physical disabilities. He also specializes in rehabilitation for sports injuries, fibromyalgia, cervical spondylosis, post-surgical care, Parkinson’s disease, Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS), and weight management.
He continues to inspire with his dedication to improving patient outcomes through advanced physiotherapy and rehabilitation techniques, making significant contributions to Bangladesh’s healthcare sector.
